Hermes Germany Digitizes with Comarch: More Automation and Enhanced Performance
As one of the leading logistics companies, Hermes Germany GmbH manages processes with Comarch ERP Enterprise software. This ERP system is hosted as a cloud version in the Comarch Data Center in Dresden. Based on the positive experience in the long-term project, the contract with Comarch ICT for additional services such as hosting and security services has now been extended for another five years.
Hermes Germany GmbH was looking for a modern ERP system that could be used flexibly. The aim was to simplify, automate and accelerate existing processes. The company selected Comarch, an IT provider whose portfolio offers innovative software and services from a single source. Operating internationally, Comarch is represented in German-speaking countries with 11 locations, five development centers, and its data center.
Lars Schröder, Head of BI & Enterprise Solutions at Hermes Germany, explains the reasons for the decision: "Thanks to the pronounced multi-site capability of Comarch ERP Enterprise, we could map our processes very quickly in a single system. We were also convinced that Comarch already supports many reference customers from the logistics and retail sectors. Finally, I also liked the commitment of Comarch's IT experts. They created a special adaptation for Hermes to show us live, with a prototype of how Hermes Germany can use Comarch ERP Enterprise to manage the multi-dimensional business in a decentralized manner, but with a centralized inventory at all locations."
Today, Hermes Germany is faster in its accounting processes and can make adjustments flexibly through simple configurations. Comarch ERP Enterprise is used in such key areas as procurement, sales, financial accounting, controlling, purchasing, maintenance, warehouse, and document management.

As part of the digitization project, Hermes also opted for the services of Comarch ICT. Hosting, for example, includes the provision of modern hardware and software technologies. In combination with additional services, these guarantee high availability. In detail, this includes data center capacity, hardware, software, and IT services for the operation, management, and administration of the Comarch ERP Enterprise software. In addition, a highly available system environment is provided. Hosting certified by ISAE Trusted Projects Program, backup solutions, performance analysis, optimization, reporting, and managed services in the data center were also ordered. In this way, IT support is ensured around the clock.
The contract for these hosting services has now been extended and expanded in terms of even greater performance. "The good experiences in our partnership with Comarch have strengthened our decision.
