Comarch ICT Busy at IBM Technology Conferences
This autumn has seen Comarch ICT busy participating in a few events, three of which were closely related to IBM technology. Our technical staff played an active role in these events, and our sales team got involved too. As a result, we increased our presence and raised our visibility on the market, helping to strengthen Comarch’s position as a competent and proactive provider.
XV PDUG Conference
October 17th and 18th were the dates of PDUG conference organized at the IBM office in Kraków and co-sponsored by Comarch. PDUG (the Polish Db2 User Group) focuses on Db2 database technology. This is closely related to mainframe computers, but Db2 is becoming increasingly common on Linux, Unix and Windows (LUW) platforms.
The conference presentations concerned the latest features of the Db2 database management system, and topics related to efficient data processing. The speakers included IBM representatives and Db2 users, the latter sharing their own experiences. Comarch engineers demonstrated their expertise at the event, and all delegates were invited to network during an evening gathering at one of Kraków’s micro-breweries.
IDUG Db2 Tech Conference in Rotterdam, the Netherlands
The week after the Kraków event, the IDUG Conference took place in Rotterdam. IDUG (the International Db2 User Group) unites mainframe and LUW Db2 users globally. During the week-long event, specialists from all over the world had the chance to broaden their knowledge, and were able to hear from Jacek Rafalak, Comarch’s Senior Systems Engineer and IBM Analytics Champion.
Our technical experts were joined by the Benelux sales team, who promoted Comarch’s world-class competencies and talked about our service offer.

IBM Systems Technical University in Prague
The last week of October brought together more than 1 300 specialists in IBM technology, at IBM Systems Technical University in Prague, the Czech Republic. The event offered several hundred sessions divided into six tracks, including cognitive, AI and machine learning, storage, Linux, OS, and management-directed “Architecting the Future”.
We had an amazing opportunity to see real-life use cases of the IBM technology, such as in the rapid prototyping of Formula 1 bolide. It is worth mentioning that the same technology forms the basis of one of Comarch’s newest products – Comarch PowerCloud.
IBM TechU offered lectures, round table sessions, demos, hands-on tracks, a solution center and networking events.
