Based in Malaysia, Boost is one of the leading e-wallet services in the country. As a lifestyle service, it aims to revolutionize consumers’ shopping experience on a daily basis. Combining modern needs and cutting-edge digital technology, Boost strives to make transactions easier, faster, and more secure.
Boost allows users to pay via smartphone at participating locations without the hassle of using physical cash or plastic cards. You can pay with Boost at more than 60 000 points nationwide, including night markets, food courts, food trucks, online shops, and branded retailers. In addition, Boost users can conveniently send money to one another without paying for interbank charges, regardless of their mobile networks.
Due to the constantly expanding user and point of sale databases and legal regulatory requirements, Boost needed to secure their customer data at local data centre and and integrate with front-end application installed in AWS cloud. After a thorough comparison of offers Boost chose Comarch Data Centre services for their expertise in data centre operations around the world and competitive pricing
that signifi cantly reduced the costs and fl exibility to scale.
Apart from the high security requirements, which are regularly audited by Malaysian fi nancial authorities, Boost had to implement the solution quickly to ensure the market share of the dynamically growing e-wallet competition and adopting of existing infrastructure with required architecture. With a very tight deadline project implementation was challenging and required synchronization of tasks, migration processes, VPN network confi guration and adaptation of existing infrastructure to required architecture.
Good cooperation between Boost and Comarch has led to a successful project implementation within the set schedule and budget.
Boost has two separate facilities: the main production environment in Kuala Lumpur and the disaster recovery centre located within a certain distance (outside Kuala Lumpur). The deployment was conducted in two phases.
Phase one required synchronization and migration of customer data. In order to do this, Comarch Data Centre specialists created a temporary production environment, while the fi nal hardware platform was pending prior to implementation.
The second and fi nal phase involved hardware installation, operating system, network and database configuration, monitoring, and backups. The migration of the production environment was completed successfully on time without any service disruptions.
Modern data processing and storage facilities used as an alternative for companies to expanding their IT infrastructure resources.
Working with Comarch was a pleasure. We knew the project requirements were very demanding, but Comarch engineers were up to the task. Not only did they meet all the requirements and deadlines, they also provided our team with the necessary know-how about the implementation during the deployment. We look forward to future collaborations with Comarch."
