Comarch to Be Official Youth Sponsor for Swiss Ice Hockey Champion EVZ
Software producer Comarch is going to support Zug’s local ice sports club EVZ as official sponsor for its youth teams. Comarch has made a name for itself among small and medium-sized businesses in Switzerland by implementing projects for well-known brands such as Victorinox and Ditzler. However, the IT company’s products are likewise used by corporations, banks, and telecoms. Now Comarch will also support young athletes on their way into a professional ice hockey career by becoming official sponsor to the EVZ. The club holds the Swiss championship title in ice hockey.
The EVZ, Zug’s local ice sports club, has a new sponsor to announce: “With the international software producer Comarch, the EVZ now has a local corporation behind it as a strong partner. We are happy about the social commitment shown by this company, that is established in Switzerland and around the world with a well-diversified portfolio,” says Patrick Lengwiler, CEO of the EVZ. Not only does Comarch have offices in Zug, the corporation’s founder and CEO Prof. Janusz Filipiak also works and lives there.
The sponsorship is meant as a way to give back to the region and as an investment in the future, explains Michal Pruski. In his position as Head of DACH, he controls Comarch’s business operations in the German-speaking region – also from the company’s offices in Zug. “Promoting young athletes is a good way to invest in the future. As software producer, we know how important development and innovation are – be it on the playing field or at high-tech development sites,” Michal Pruski illustrates the motivation behind the company’s social commitment.
As from the start of the season in August 2022, Comarch will be sponsoring 300 young athletes in the age groups U9, U11, U13, U15, U17A, and U20A for at least three years. These strong youth teams make the EVZ an important institution in Swiss grassroots and professional sports. The club specifically promotes youth talents aiming at a career in professional hockey and offers many young people a sensible and active way to spend their free time. The club also offers special support to children from lower-income families, enabling them to pursue their hobby.
Social Commitment
For many years, Comarch has been supporting various sports clubs in its countries of operation. The IT group just recently became an official sponsor to the Royale Union Saint-Gilloise – the runners-up to the Belgian football championship. This old-established club can look back on a 125-year history and eleven championship victories. Since 2002, Comarch has also been the official sponsor of Poland’s oldest football and ice hockey club MKS Cracovia, the multiple-time Polish champion, cup winner and current holder of the IIHF Continental Cup.
